Paphos is a region on the west coast of the island of Cyprus and is extremely popular with Western holidaymakers. Some parts are like home-from-home but with gorgeous weather – there are Irish pubs, Sunday roast at the restaurants and plenty of bars and nightlife. So, if a buzzing nightlife is the scene that holidaymakers are looking for, Paphos is the place! Yet there is a very different side to Paphos too, with its traditional and sleepy villages and stunning countryside. Limassol in the south is an archetypal traditional Greek town and is full of ancient romance. Amathus Bay is also on the south coast and is a secluded and quiet beach with ruins nearby. There are also the amazing blue-flag beaches, which can be enjoyed by everyone, from families to couples. With the glorious weather holidaymakers have a great chance to sunbathe or to take a dip in the blue Mediterranean!
Weather
With its sunny, Mediterranean climate all-year round, holidaymakers can be confident of good weather. Cyprus has exactly the weather needed for sunbathing. While it can get very hot, it is a dry heat without the unpleasant humidity and, being coastal, a cool breeze prevents things from getting too hot and sticky! A siesta is advisable, however, as it helps people to slow down and adjust to a gentler holiday pace.
Who goes here?
Because of its exciting nightlife, partygoers flock to Paphos – so it is a destination for those who want a great night out and sun-kissed beaches in the day. It has another side too – one of stunning countryside and traditional villages. Because of this a wide variety of holidaymakers will find Paphos to be a real draw and their perfect holiday break!
