Amalfi Holidays

Image

It’s one of the most stunning coastlines anywhere in Europe, but the Amalfi Coast has even more to offer than just the breathtaking views. Known for its rich history and culinary tradition, this part of Southern Italy is a must for serious travellers and holidaymakers alike.

A perfect example of a Mediterranean landscape, it doesn’t get much better than this. A dramatic skyline of coastal mountains is peppered with picturesque villages and towns, rich green forests and the endless blue of the Mediterranean. You can hop between towns such as Amalfi, Positano or the beautiful Villa Cimbrone, taking in the sights and sampling the local cuisine as you go. There’s no shortage of things to do, but it’s a good idea to take it slow and absorb the scenery as you go.

The extreme heat and crowds of holidaymakers mean that high season may not be the best time to visit the Amalfi Coast. It’s probably a better idea to aim for the May-June and September-October periods. The heat is more bearable and the towns aren’t overrun with other tourists. It also means you will get a better value rate at most hotels. If you’re planning to go in the summer, it’s important to book ahead of time to avoid disappointment. It may be busy, but there are still quiet enclaves where you can escape, such as Ravello, a little hilltop village that usually sheltered from the hustle and bustle of the resort towns.

A trip to the Amalfi Coast is an unforgettable experience. Visit for the stunning scenery, historic towns and truly wonderful food.
