San Miguel De Abona Holidays

San Miguel is, without a doubt, one of the best places to go to if you are looking for luxury holidays in Tenerife. Visitors are instantly struck by the sheer amount of high quality golf courses in the area. This resort is not the best place to visit for people who are after a beach holiday. Those who are not interested in golf will find little to do in the region. There is only one beach, which is pebble based and does not have a large variety of activities in which to participate. The village area is very traditional of the region and contains some very distinctive architectural landmarks, such as the San Miguel Arcángel Church, which was built in the 17th century. Much of the village is old and still contains the narrow alleyways and cobbles that were put in place hundreds of years ago. This makes it the perfect place for history buffs to take a relaxing break.

Things to do on holiday

Aside from golf, people often enjoy taking boat trips on the marina, or going on the Sub Fun Cinco submarine. This is one of the most unique features of San Miguel. This submarine is one of only five Mark II tourist subs in the world. Trips on the Sub Fun Cinco last for approximately fifty minutes and will be submerged for around forty minutes.

The night life is fairly relaxed, however the area does contain a collection of bars and restaurants, most of which are located in the main square. There are also a number of souvenir shops and supermarkets in the area that offer DVD rental for those who would like a quiet night in their hotel.
