Jumeira Beach, with its white sand beach, stretching along the coast south of Dubai’s historic district to the junction with the Palm Jumeirah and ending between the southern end of the Jumeirah Beach Residences and the port facilities at Jebel Ali.

The huge expansion of the emirate of Dubai since the late 1990s has seen a growth in housing developments across Dubai, with Jumeirah growing into an area populated by luxury hotels. The Walk area is pedestrianised and has many restaurants and beach cafes along the front, there is a playground for children, water sports as well as a market-style souq for souvenir shopping or unique fashion.
